Adobe Audition to Ableton Live: Migration Guide

Adobe Audition is a solid multitrack editor popular with podcasters, voice-over artists, and video editors who already subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud. But when a project needs the creative power of Ableton Live -- advanced effects processing, MIDI instruments, or Session View experimentation -- migrating sessions between the two applications becomes necessary.

Why Move from Audition to Ableton?

Exporting AAF from Adobe Audition

  1. Open your multitrack session in Adobe Audition
  2. Go to File > Export > Session as AAF
  3. Choose your audio format (WAV recommended at your session's sample rate)
  4. Select whether to embed or reference audio files
  5. Choose a destination and click Export

Audition exports a complete AAF file containing all track data, clip positions, volume envelopes, and fade information.
